My name is Sharon Messersmith.
My husband (Kevin) and I want to share our passion for raising well mannered, happy, healthy dogs with other dog owners who share the same passion. I have been raising and training dogs for over 20 years. I am a graduate of Peaceable Paws Level 1 Internship with nationally known Trainer, Pat Miller, CPDT-KA, CDBC and former President of the Association for Pet Dog Trainers. I have experience with a lot of different types of dogs including dogs from rescues and puppy mills, assertive dogs, high energy hunting and retrieving dogs, shy and fearful dogs.
The first thing I learned about dog training is how important exercise is to the dogs over all well being. I haven’t always lived in an area that was safe for proper exercise for my own dogs. This made me realize how important having access to the right environment is when it comes to raising a well behaved dog. When friends and clients tell me about their dog’s behavioral problems, the first question I ask them is, “How much exercise do you give your dog a day?” Exercise is one of the most effective ways to prevent behavioral problems from occurring. Dogs will become destructive, annoying, and high energy when they are not getting enough proper exercise. Since exercise does not prevent all behavioral problems, it is my desire to continue my education in behavioral and manners training, so I can provide the most up to date training that exercise alone does not prevent.
Our dogs are part of the family. We love and care for them as if they were one of our children. We look forward to meeting you and your dog and sharing our facility with you.
